Data Science Using R

A workshop on Data Science Using R has been conducted from 30th October 2017 to 13th November 2017(13 days) by the Department of Computer science, St. Joseph's Degree College, Kurnool. R is a dynamic language and environment for statistical computing that combines the features of object oriented and functional programming. It provides a wide variety of highly extensible statistical and graphical techniques. R is an Open Source suite for data modeling and is the choice of researchers in statistical analysis.

The R programming language has become an important tool for computational statistics, visualization, data science and predictive modeling. It is used to solve challenging problems in fields like computational biology, quantitative marketing and finance. It is an integrated suite of software that effectively handles data analysis and storage, performs calculation on arrays, integrates collection of statistical analysis tool, and operates as a general matrix calculation toolbox.

The objective of this workshop is to provide an opportunity for faculty and researchers to interact with leading person in statistics and data analytics. This workshop aims at meeting a growing need in Data Analytics among the faculty . It will give them a comprehensive overview of R in Data Analytics, projects/research related to it and a hands-on experience in applying them.

Topics covered
Introduction to R Programming
Statistical Analysis using R
R in Data Analytics and
Hadoop.

In this workshop 40 faculties have participated from various colleges affiliated to Rayalaseema University.
