EMERGING TRENDS ON SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Botany Department of St .Joseph's Degree college The topic of the lecture was "Emerging Trends in Science and Technology".

This lecture emphasised on the recent trends in plant sciences and applied sciences .Speaker described that science and technology is a topic that encompasses science, technology and the interactions between the two. She shared her knowledge about Cytogenetic which is progressing very rapidly in recent years. Cytogenetics now advances through basic Biology, Microscopy, Cytochemistry and Biochemistry.

She quoted that the advent of genomics based technologies has provided the ability to address biological questions. The resource person briefly explained  about emerging trends in Plant Cytogenetic , Genome Biodiversity and Sustainable development, biotechnological approaches for crop improvement, trends in genomics proteomics and Metabolomics and role of bioinformatics in plant sciences. The lecture was interactive and informative.
