The theme for the National Science Day 2019 is SCIENCE FOR THE PEOPLE AND PEOPLE FOR SCIENCE.
National science Day is celebrated to remember the invention of the RAMAN EFFECT in  India
In this regard we celebrated science day with great enthusiasm on 19 of February 2019.
The main objective is to create awareness about the importance of science in day to day life situation and also to create students interest      in studying science.
As a part of celebration  science exhibition was conducted in Botany lab .
Dr. Madhu Sundan Rao, lecturer in Botany , GDC for Men ,judged and gave 1& 2 prizes.

Programme outcome:

Students enthusiastically participated in the expo and made wonderful, amazing models, on various topics of Botany. It was clear that students enthusiastically  researched and wholeheartedly took part in the Expo.

The work presented by them in the form of models monitored and were made under the guidance of their lecturers. Appreciation of students was keenly observed when students spoke and explained their models in detail. Lecturers of other departments got the students to take rounds in order to appreciate the hard work put in by their fellow friends. The students posed questions, where the students got an opportunity to communicate their thoughts. The science expo was indeed gave the participants exposure and confidence to present their innovation and mind.
