The Entrepreneurship Awareness Cell was constituted by the IQAC, St Joseph’s Degree College Kurnool on June 2019 to spread awareness and to motivate the under graduate students regarding the entrepreneurial skills and to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship.
Plan of Action:
The team of lecturers and student volunteers organize pep talks, seminars, idea generating competitions and business plan competitions for the students,to encourage the students to venture into business world of comepetition. . For a better understanding of the business ecosystem and the various government incentives & schemes experts in the fields are to be invited and interactive sessions are to be arranged.
In November 2020 after gaining recognition as a Member of National Rural Entrepreneurship Mission by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India, Entrepreneurship Awareness Cell was upgraded into Entrepreneurship Development Cell(EDC)
Collaboration with MIC:
Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India has established ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes in their informative years.
On 12th March 2022, St Joseph’s Degree college got enrolled under IIC under the guidance of Academic Head Showrilu Reddy under the able leadership of Principal Dr K.Shantha and Vice Principal Dr C.V Satyanarayana. IIC formed with a team of 8 external resource persons who are prominent experts from different fields and 11 lecturers from different streams of the college. From its inception IIC team has been taking things on a very passionate way and the team has been relentlessly planning and organizing programs that have been prescribed by IIC in specific time
