Telugu is one of the Dravidian languages which was hailed as "Desha Bhashalandhu Telugu Lessa" by Sri Krishnadevaraya. It has been praised as the Italian of the East. It is the official language of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States. Telugu Department was started since the inception of the college. The Department has 5 experienced faculty and around 70% of the students opt Telugu as second language.
Telugu language has inherited 75% of Sanskrit words and sounds. Telugu is the only Ajanthabasha - Every word of it ends with an vowel sound.
Several seminars, symposia, competitions are regularly conducted on Telugu language and literature to infuse love for Telugu language. Every year the performance of the students in the university examinations is outstanding.
