Computer Science Department was been established in the year 1994, at the starting of the college, BCA, BSc Computers, BCom Computers, and BBM have been offered at the UG level and MSc(IS) at the PG level, since then it`s striving to create an ambiance of academic excellence in the college. Computer Science is offered to the students of all courses with combination of Mathematics, Statisticts, Electronics, Commerce and Management studies, from 2015 with the introduction of CBCS, ICT subject in Life Science course.
The Computer Science Department organizes different activities, like quizzes, paper presentations, project contests, etc through which the technical skills of the students are eval_uated. To stay updated with the emerging technologies, experts and veterans from reputed institutions and industries are invited to give guest lectures on the areas of their expertise. Apart from these activities, the students are guided to participate in symposiums, workshops and seminars conducted by other Degree Colleges.
Computer Science Department is one of the most significant departments in the College. The three-year undergraduate programs in computer science are intended to train the students in both advanced, core areas and also in emerging technologies. We are a team of highly qualified and dedicated teaching faculty supported by a group of technical staff to provide technical facilities on the campus helping to implement ICT.
The Computer faculty members conduct regular programs to the staff of other departments to train them in technologies required for them in the teaching & learning process.
Computer Science Department has excellent infrastructure and facilities for the students. It is the endeavor of the management to periodically migrate to the latest software and hardware to pace with the ever-changing need of the industry so that our students come out with new knowledge in both software and hardware.
The department has seven computer labs with ICT facilities. 234 computers are available in these labs for the students and they are accessible to the students till 5pm every day. The systems in these labs have updated configurations, like core2duo, each lab is given an experienced faculty member, who will take care of the systems, and the students who are using them after the college hours. The department has the credit of hosting online exams of many reputed companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys etc., in these Laboratories.
