Department Of Botany

        The Department of Botany was established in 1994 and since inception it has been working in alignment with the mission of college to promote teaching. This department is the best place for students in love with both basics and applied aspects of plant sciences. The goal is to impart knowledge and training to equip interested individuals in plant sciences so as to make them understand ever changing concepts in the fields and facilitate specialization. The laboratory is well equipped with major instruments - laminar air flow, incubator, pH meter, hotplate, autoclave oven, electronic balance, compound and dissecting microscopes etc.

        Class tests, assignments, Hands on activities, projects are given to the students to enhance their curricular performance.

        Study tours, Botanical garden visit, guest lectures, project exhibitions and seminars are few of co-curricular activities organised by the department which certainly prepare the students to face the challenges in future.

        The department has experienced and well qualified staff members and well equipped laboratories. The Herbarium of our department has a collection of around 100 herbarium sheets of local Angiosperms and Gymnosperms.
