A safe environment is the cornerstone of a high quality education. Our St.Joseph’s Degree college is dedicated to the cause of imparting value-based quality education to students also teaching and non-teaching staff to provide a safe and secure environment, free of violence and harassment, our College has established a special cell for the prevention of sexual harassment as per the guidelines of UGC and the Supreme court on anti-sexual harassment cell.
VISION:
We envision a safe environment and protection against sexual harassment of women at St. Joseph’s Degree College, Kurnool and for redressal of complaints of sexual harassment and to ensure gender equality in St. Joseph’s Degree College, Kurnool.

Our committee members are also alert and active at all times keeping a watch on activities, and if we find any such behaviour we try to counsel and warn them and if this behaviour continues then we inform their parents and take action against them. Half yearly meetings are held in the last week of the months of January and October, and an awareness program is held at the beginning of the academic year for the newly joined members. The college campus has high boundary walls with well-guarded gates and CC cameras.
ID cards for all staff and students are compulsory with routine checking by NSS students. Proper lighting on verandah and pathways for free movement in late evening is provided.
OBJECTIVES:
1.To promote awareness about sexual harassment through educational initiatives and a safe campus environment.
2.To develop guidelines and norms for policies against sexual harassment
3.To provide a healthy and friendly atmosphere to students, teachers and non-teaching faculty of the college.
A stringent action will be taken on the students indulged in any objectionable activity .
