Department Of Microbiology

Department of microbiology was established in 1994.Aa microbes play important role in the bioprocess of all living things and maintain homeostasis of the universe. Without microbes,one cannot imagine such a biologically balanced and diverse universe; rather our earth would have placed as a barren planet. As the microbiology programme is a multidisciplinary subject, which will have the roots of lifescience, environmental science, and  engineering. Traditional microbiology is considered to be an enormous potential and vast scope in fermentation, bioremediation and biomedical technology. over the years the department has grown in stature and recognition and is renowned for the subject.The department is striving hard to provide a conducive learning environment and a student friendly atmosphere that facilitates academic excellence in all aspects of Microbiology. We are committed to produce highly skilled microbiologists capable of facing the challenges of today’s world. The faculty members are very active and successful in bringing the latest knowledge to the lectures and practical lab classes .our students have been successfully placed in esteemed pharmaceutical companies like Hetero drugs; Diya’s Laboratories; Semi government organizations  like Indian  Immunologicals limited at very good packages. our students also got ranks in prestigious universities like ICAAR ,HCU, University of Calicut, Manipal university etc….

The Department provides ample scope to students and faculties for academics. The class Size is kept large enough to provide a vibrant learning environment but small enough to allow close interactions between the faculty and students.

The department has further extended in offering P.G Course in 2001.Postgraduate students in  the department gain valuable research experience through research project, which is practical training of the subject, offered as a part of the course curriculum. The department is well-equipped with modern laboratories to provide quality teaching and practicals.
